StemExpress Opens New Collection Center in East Norriton, PA
StemExpress recently opened a new blood and bone marrow collection center in East Norriton and is actively seeking new blood donors to help advance medical research.
“We’re inviting the community to be a part of life-saving research,” said Kirk Labar, StemExpress site manager. “The first appointment lasts about 30 minutes and includes filling out paperwork and a small blood draw. Each donor will receive a $25 gift card for their time and effort.”
After the initial appointment, donors can be compensated up to $550 depending on the type of donation. And because blood donated for research purposes will not be used to treat actual patients, more people are eligible to donate. Pregnant women, people who have traveled internationally and those who recently got a tattoo can donate with StemExpress.
StemExpress provides researchers and clinicians around the world, including in the Philadelphia area, with blood, bone marrow and isolated cells needed to advance their work to develop new treatments and cures for various illnesses including cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other disorders.
Each year, millions of people are diagnosed with various diseases, but thanks in large part to research resulting in improved healthcare, survival rates are increasing.
StemExpress is located at 325 W Germantown Pike, Suite 200, East Norriton, PA, 19403 and is open Sunday – Thursday from 7 AM – 4 PM. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
