The Role
We are looking for an A-Tech to work at our Clinic in Boston, MA.
The Apheresis Technician's primary responsibilities support the day-to-day operations of collection center compliance in providing our customers in the biomedical community with the highest quality products to fuel research and improvements in medicine.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
- Provide safe, effective Apheresis treatments, ensuring all treatments are performed according to established procedures, guidelines, and contracts in compliance with all pertinent regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate excellence in customer/donor service.
- Receive, log, and trace specimens while following HIPPA regulations for donor/sample security.
- Ensure collection and quality compliance for blood, cells, tissue and apheresis donations.
- Perform cell counts and analysis on specimens.
- Assist with bone marrow collections.
- Support regular routine maintenance and cleanliness of facilities.
- Provide support for the Injury & Illness Prevention Program as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexible work schedule, including weekends, will be needed based on project requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required to have completed at least 40 hours of phlebotomy training.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow protocols to maintain quality systems.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 5% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience
- Knowledge of Office 365
- Experience with EHR systems
